I know about it perfectly well! That’s why I was surprised to learn about the customs in connection with it here – in the UK. The same – there are no gifts, when children finish school etc. I remember 3 years ago when my grandson finished primary school they had a party somewhere , I don’t remember if it was in school or may be in the cafe but not a word was said about a gift to the teacher. So I asked my stepdaughter Anna if the parents gathered money to buy a gift for their children’s teacher. She looked surprised and even puzzled , and then answered negatively. She had never heard about something of this kind.
