Thank you for the wonderful photos! The fountains are really beautiful;

particularly the fountain that looks like a skyscraper (I like Nataly’s comparison) and I have never seen anything like this before.
Irina F.
Irina, we will wait for your photos from the Festival.

At first I thought to ask Bill (my husband) about going to Leeds to see the Festival, but then we both decided to go to the coast as we don’t like crowds of people, loud music, etc. I think it’s our age….
Dear girls if you don’t mind I would like to show some photos of the places we went to on Sunday. The place is called Flamborough Head it’s on the North East coast of England. It took us almost two hours to get there and we stayed there for only another two hours as we needed to get back to see to the dogs. I would like to show you one of the photos of the perfect condition of country roads here in England (I always admire it).
And in the 2nd photo there is a hedge. It goes on for some miles, there are only fields around (no villages), and in spite of it the hedge is very neatly trimmed! It’s England!
At last we arrived, the road ended at the place where a lighthouse is, and I’d like to hope it is noticeable in the photo that far away on the horizon the sea gradually transfers into the sky.
The beautiful old white cliffs washed by the sea
People sitting on the benches enjoy watching the sea which is different every minute.
In this photo there is something like a short column and an arrow on the ground. The arrow shows the direction of the Greenwich Meridian.
On the top of the column there is a kind of a disk with the outline of England, the Greenwich Meridian and different directions come from it. So as far as I understood if we are in Flamborough Head and start crossing the sea, eventually we will find ourselves in Europe so easily!
One of the last photos… As soon as we started our way to Flamborough Bill started to dream about fish and chips at the seaside.

Please don’t laugh but I decided to show you this traditional English meal (sorry, the plate is not full as I was hungry and forgot to take the photo when the waitress brought it). The fish has a fresh taste of the sea. It is delicious! Usually it is cod. And what is interesting, if you have fish and chips in England you will never find bones in fish: they are removed before cooking. On the chips in my plate there is a small slice of lemon, I have already squeezed its juice over the fish, chips and peas.
When it was time go I took the last photo of the sea.
