Dear girls,
Sorry for my absence but in thoughts I was with you and spoke. I’d like to thank you once again for your kind birthday wishes and beautiful cards! I was so touched! And today (on Monday) was my husband’s birthday. In spite of it (these two birthdays) autumn and especially October is a difficult time. But your friendly company makes me to feel comfortable and warm. friends praising
NatalyS
Natasha, I wanted to take and show the photos of autumn in Oakwell Hall Park. It’s a fine museum devoted to Charlotte Bronte: an old house of the 16 century and a huge old beautiful park. Autumn should be very picturesque at this place. Sorry but couldn’t go anywhere. The only pictures I could take were of our dog Gerry and me. And I can’t upload them to my picture gallery as they are too big and I don’t know what to do with them. I read that you had the same problem. How did you solve it? Embarassed :give_heart[/b]:
Jez
Alina thank you for answering my question about the church. The matter is I have a problem here. Sometimes I wish to go to the church to stay and to pray alone, but it’s possible only on Saturday or Sunday Morning Service. All the rest days of week they are closed. Once we were at the Catholic church (it was Sunday Morning Service) and I saw that it’s different than in an Orthodox church. The nearest Orthodox church is far, it’s more than two hours by car. So I can’t find way out now. Embarassed Romashki

hello dear girls, I am new here and already read everything in your ESP, My name is Nigora and I am from Tajikistan, well I was in US in 1995 when I was 14 for Global Leadership program, and this language I learned mostly myself, I like learning foreign languages and know almost 5 of them, except of my native language. For me it is a good practice to chat with you in ESP
I have one question, this year I, my husband and my son he is 3 year old, want to register for Green card Lottery, and I want to ask question if anyone of you know is it easy to live after you won GCL in US, I mean finding job, house, etc???

Nigora- first of all I want to welcome you to ESR.

Secondly, to answer your question:

A) this depends on where in the U.S. you decide to "end up". Certain parts of the U.S. have good social welfare programs (helping immigrants with food, medicine, & some money until you find a job), but certain parts of the U.S. have almost nothing "free" for new immigrants. The tricky part is that the parts that have good social programs have less jobs, and those places that have more jobs, don't offer much in terms of welfare.
B) this also depends on how picky you are. If you are one of those people that only wants to do what you were trained for, you will most likely never find a job, or it will be very difficult. However, if you are not very picky (within reason and propriety, of course), you can get on your feet relatively quickly
C) The house is the most interesting part. I am sure you have heard of the financial crisis that has thrown America to its knees. Well, this crisis came about as a result of the housing market crash. At this point, however, many houses are available for sale, but they are VERY expensive, and require a 20% down payment before you are even considered for a mortgage. To demonstrate how expensive houses are, you can not get a small house of 2 bedrooms that is falling apart with barely any land for less than $200,000. This is where I live.

After you take all that into account and win the lottery, the only thing I can recommend is to come to the Eastern Shore (New York, Boston, Philadelphia, & of course, New Jersey) - these are the places that have more jobs available.

Good luck!

Thank you very much for your good explanation. But it’s different with our computer and I couldn’t do anything. Fortunately my husband uploaded the program we needed and did all the work with my photos. So they are in my gallery now. I will catch you later, till then take care. Rose Romashki girl_bye

Hello, girls! Romashki You're sure to remember our talk about eating by colours as far as you asked me to continue it. This is what I'm going to do now. Rose

Fruits: deeply coloured berries, such as blueberries, blackcurrants and blackberries are rich saurces of special antioxidant phenols, called anthocyanins, which have anti-aging effects and may help to prevent hunger, diabetes and heart desease. They may also help reduce your risk of cancer and Alzheimer's. You can find similar antioxidants in purple-skinned plums, black cherries and purple grapes. Most dark berries are also high in vitamin C, a vitamin with a strong anto-oxidant action. Dried forms of fruit, such as prunes (dried plums) and raisins (dried purple grapes) have even higher levels of antioxidants, but no vitamin C.

Fruits:Red fruits, such as cherries, red grapes, strawberries and cranberries, are high in a variety of potent antioxidants which are anti-cancer and anti-heart desease. An anti-inflammatory compound called cyanidin, found in good amounts in cherries, helps to minimise symptoms of arthrities and gout. Cranberries contain a natural antibiotic that helps fight cytitis and kidney stones. give_heart

I can vouch for this statement! Since I refused to take antibiotics during my pregnancy, cranberry juice is the only thing that got rid of cystitis! And it tastes yummy! Wink

Would you like to have some more information about eating by colours?
Here it is. give_heart
FruitsAntioxidant flavonoids, found in citrus fruit, such as oranges, work with vitamin C to help reduce the risk of cancer, strengthen bones and teeth, heal wounds, keep skin healthy and lower the risk of heart attacks. Orange-fleshed melons, such as cataloupe, are a good source of beta-carotene for cancer protection. Romashki

Fruits: Yellow- fleshed melon and grapefruit are high in flavonoids which fight against cancer and heart desease. Grapefruit is rich in the mineral potassium - a high potassium diet can reduce the risk of stroke. Pineapple contains an interesting compound, called bromelain, which is anti-inflamatory and may control athric conditions and reduce the risk of blood clots. good
